Welcome on the web pages of the chair of Business Information Systems (BIS) at ESCP Europe Campus Berlin.

The main objective of the BIS team in teaching is that students should be able to understand how firms are using information systems as well as information and communication technologies to transform business models, develop new strategies, innovate with new services and products and achieve operational excellence. Within the various programmes at ESCP Europe Campus Berlin, we tailor the BIS related learning objectives and learning content specifically to the learners’ needs. Our research basically covers the main topics in Business Information Systems. Thereby, we currently focus on a) the convergence of Knowledge Management and E-Learning, b) Ambient Intelligence, and c) IT Service Management. Biography of Prof. Dr. Markus Bick

Markus Bick is professor of Business Information Systems at ESCP Europe Campus Berlin. He earned a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Duisburg-Essen and a Diploma (M.Sc. equivalent) in business information systems from the University of Essen.

Professor Bick teaches business and management information systems in the Master, Ph.D., and MBA programs of the school. He also teaches knowledge management and simulation in the Master program (M.Sc.) Virtual Education in Business Information Systems (VAWi) at the Universities of Bamberg and Duisburg-Essen.

His main research interests and activities are related to knowledge management, e-learning, convergent systems, ambient intelligence, and simulation.
