Judith Glücker, Jahrgang 2010/2011

Previous Studies:
Intercultural Business Communication, Bachelor of Arts, FH Magdeburg-Stendal
Stream:
Berlin - Paris (French track)
Current Position: Junior Product Manager, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

After studying Intercultural Business Communication I worked for one year in the area of microfinance as a project assistant for a French NGO. I realised that I needed deeper business insights in order to realise my career plans and decided to study a master programme. The Master in European Business at ESCP Europe was the right choice for me.

The general management approach of this programme gives me a good overview of all relevant business aspects. Moreover, we are offered many career services that help us building our career. I took advantage of a assessment centre training, a rhetoric training and a strengths and weaknesses analysis. Additionally, I attended the company workshops of Unicredit and Greenhill as well as the Recruiting Days organised by the Berlin campus.

After finishing all management modules and exams I started my company consultancy project. Together with three fellow students I was working for Greenvironment plc – a company operating in the field of renewable energies. Our task was to develop an internationalization strategy for markets in Eastern Europe with the focus on M&A targets. It was fascinating to directly apply things we’ve learned to a real business case. I finished this project mid-February and then moved to Paris where I continue my studies.

Liesbeth Greulich, Jahrgang 2010/2011

Previous Studies:
Communications Management, Bachelor of Arts, Business School Potsdam (FH)
Stream:
London-Berlin (German track)
Current Position: Trainee General Management Programme, Peek & Cloppenburg KG

After finishing my Bachelor degree in Communications Management I got the chance to do a 6-months internship at MINI (BMW) before joining the Master in European Business at the ESCP Europe. The university as well as the program were the perfect choice for me because of various advantages: I had the chance to do a Master of Science in only one year without having a Bachelor in business sciences before. The compact program enabled me to go abroad, to study in two exciting cities, to live and learn together with other students with different nationalities, to intensify my language skills and to make great experiences.

The program gave me the opportunity to apply my knowledge gained from my first study during several group works. Moreover I learned new, interesting, more holisitc and business-based approaches towards companies and their environments. Two different company consultancy projects with notable companies (I worked for Honeywell in London and for the Beiersdorf AG in Berlin), various case studies, presentations and teamworks combine the ideal theoretical and practical study in order to be prepared for a successful future with a broad know-how.

One of the best aspects of the Master in European Business was the excellent career support: They offered interview trainings, advised me in terms of future placements and organised recruiting days where companies presented themselves and students got the exclusive chance to get in touch with different company representatives.

Another essential aspect was the experience to work together with a lot of people from diverse backgrounds with many different opinions and positions. To cope with this and to prioritise tasks and projects was the best training for my future work life which I start directly after finishing my master thesis as a General Management Trainee at the Peek & Cloppenburg KG.

Max Görner, Jahrgang 2010/2011

Previous Studies:
Business Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University Stuttgart
Stream:
London-Berlin (German track)
Current Position: Consultant, avantum consult AG

After completing my undergraduate degree in business engineering and my first practical experiences in a DAX-30 company, I wanted to take the next step. I wanted to find a course where I could gain a lot more business knowledge in a short space of time, whilst also enhancing my personality by working in a very international environment full of highly skilled students with a variety of cultural and academic backgrounds.

The Master of European Business course at ESCP was the only course, which could offer me two Master degrees in just one year. Other highlights included studying in two countries with different combinations of students and getting even more practical experience through the company consultancy projects.

In retrospect, I can honestly say that it was the right decision for me as I learned a lot academically and personally. I also met wonderful people and received job opportunities I could only have dreamed of twelve months before. Overall through the uniqueness of this course, combined with the career services at both campuses, and the two totally different but equally challenging company consultancy projects, ESCP Europe has brought my chances on the job market up to a whole new level.

Davide Chirico, Jahrgang 2010/2011

Previous Studies:
Bachelor in "Sciences and Technologies of Communication", IULM University, Milan (Italy)
Stream:
Monterrey-Berlin (English track)
Internship: Intern in the department procurement, Bombardier Transportation (from October 2011)

The Master in European Business gave me the chance to expand my professional horizons. As a student with a non-management background, I could develop the knowledge and the tools necessary to work in the business world.

I achieved bachelor degree in Communication in 2007 afterwards I had a short work experience working for a television channel in Miami, USA. At that point of my life I was interested in media and I could only see myself working in that industry. My experience at ESCP Europe was totally satisfactory as it gave me the chance to re-direct my professional growth. I have found an internship at Bombardier, in the department of Procurement, which is something I would have never thought before I started this master.

I strongly recommend this master to whoever wants to give a new direction to his career; besides tools and knowledge – along with the prestige of the school – ESCP Europe gives the students, the chance to get directly in touch with several big companies through workshops, lectures, alumni and other activities.

Having graduated in law with the first state examination, I was looking for hands-on business skills. Since I am about to become a lawyer next year,my objective is not only to be a good specialist in one subject but also capable to intercommunicate in business matters. The MEB suited perfectly to my needs: A one year business master in two countries with many case studies and real consultancy projects. I appreciated very much the well organized company counseling (assessment center, rhetoric lessons, open door day) and the overall support service. In this one year i obtained an higher international background and made friends from all over the world.

Previous Studies:
Masters in Information Technology, Politechnico Di Torino, Bachelor of Engineering,  Mumbai University
Stream:
London-Berlin (English track)
Internship:
Senacor Technologies AG, Business IT Consulting

After completing my undergraduate degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, I came to Europe to do my Masters in Information Technology. Later I spent a year working as an automotive consultant. It was during my time as a consultant that I realised I lacked knowledge regarding various aspects of management practices such as project management, strategy development, financial management to name a few. Thus I wanted to take the next step and find a course where I could gain a lot more business knowledge in a short period of time.

The general management approach of the Masters in European Business programme gives me a good overview of the various aspects of business. Studying in two countries with different combinations of students, getting even more practical experience through the company consultancy projects along with career centre services like assessment centre training, rhetoric training and strengths and weaknesses analysis along with the chance to attend the company workshops of Bombardier, Unicredit Group, Accenture and Nomura to name a few are just some of the highlights of this program.

I would strongly recommend this master’s program to whoever would like enhance his formal basic education with the latest management knowledge. As it is a one-year program it is also attractive for people like me with previous experience who are interested in shifting their line of work. The MEB programme gave me the chance to acquire a master degree within one year and at the same time equipped me with important business skills and a great network of both fellow students and precious alumni in various companies around the globe.
