The Chair of Business Information Systems provides lectures in the following programmes of study:
Business Information Systems is an elective (9.5 ECTS) within this program. It is offered in the third year of study and it aims to help students achieve a professional specialization. Within 21 blocks of 3h, students will learn to understand the special fundamental of modern information and communication technologies for companies.

The module Management Information Systems (MIS) is a compulsory subject (4 ECTS) within this program and will be attended in the second semester. The lecture provides an understanding of the importance of modern information and communication systems on operational and strategic levels for corporate managers. Therefore, the use of these technologies is taught in this module. Within 10 dates of 3h you will particularly look at the company's internal and external information and communication utilities, the relationship with suppliers, customers and other network partners and the way to achieve strategic competitive advantages.

The module Business Information Systems is within this program a compulsory subject (24h) which is currently still offered in the second part under a compact four-month course in Berlin. At the end of 8 dates of 3h the participants will be able to indicate the objectives of information management, to establish corresponding tasks from the objectives and deduce the appropriate manner which it is to be subdivided. They will know how the methodology of information management is characterised.The qualification objectives are to acquire skills in the following areas:
In addition, participants will be in a position to assess current issues of information management and IT management with effects of utilisation and implementation aspects. The starting point is the discussion of the contribution of information systems to increase competitiveness, efficiency and profitability of companies.
