ESCP Europe

EQUIS

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has established high standards for the quality assessment of business schools: the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Of the several hundred business schools in Europe, only some have achieved EQUIS accreditation; ESCP Europe obtained its first accreditation in 1998, and was reaccredited in 2003 and in 2009.

AACSB

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) is the leading American accrediting body of business schools. For many years non-American business schools have enjoyed "membership" in the AACSB but only few have been truly accredited. AACSB accreditation means that the business school meets the same very high quality standards demanded of top American business schools. ESCP Europe’s degree programmes were accredited in 2003.

National Memberships and State recognition

Most European countries have a tightly-knit national association of top business schools in the country. In France, ESCP Europe belongs to the "Conférence des Grandes Ecoles" (CGE) as well as is recognized by the French state. In the UK, ESCP Europe is a member of the Association of Business Schools (ABS), grouping the leading business schools of the country. In Germany, ESCP Europe is one of the founding members of the VHP, (Verband der privaten Hochschulen), the German federation of private universities, and is recognized by the German state as a "staatliche anerkannte wissenschaftliche Wirtschaftshochschule".

Master in Management

In France, ESCP Europe is entitled by the French state to deliver the master degree in management, representing 5 years of higher education. Thus the Master in Management has the official French title “Grade de master”.

In the UK, some universities holding a university charter establish specific quality standards which they use to evaluate the quality of educational programmes carried out by another academic institution. If the chartered university finds the quality up to standard, it may, under specific conditions, "validate" the institution's degree. ESCP Europe's Master in Management is validated by City University as a European Master in Management (MSc).

In Germany, ESCP Europe is authorized by the Berlin Senator for Education, Science and Research to deliver the state-recognized degree "Master of Science (M.Sc.)" to the Master in Management students.

In Spain, the Master in Management is officially recognized by the Carlos III University of Madrid and awarded the title of Master Europeo en Administración y Dirección de Empresas, ESCP Europe.

In Italy, by virtue of the school’s academic association with the University of Torino (Faculty of Economics), ESCP Europe also enjoys validation of its Master in Management as a Laurea Magistrale.

Master in European Business (MEB)

AMBA-MBM

The Association of MBA’s (AMBA) is a London-based international organization that accredits postgraduate business programs at business schools worldwide. The MEB programme is accredited as AMBA-MBM (Masters in Business and Management) and became one of the first 13 AMBA-MBM-accredited programmes in 2005.

Grade de Master

ESCP Europe is entitled by the French state to deliver the master degree in management, representing 5 years of higher education. Thus the MEB enjoys the official French title of "grade de master".

Executive MBA (EMBA)

AMBA

The Association of MBAs (AMBA) is a London-based international organization that accredits postgraduate business programmes at business schools worldwide. Only programmes meeting strict definitions and standards achieve AMBA accreditation. One key criterion for MBA accreditation is the program participants’ significant previous work experience; therefore AMBA-accredited MBAs are post-experience programs. ESCP Europe's MBA portfolio was AMBA-accredited in 1998 and reaccredited in 2004.

Specialized Masters

The ESCP Europe Specialized Masters are accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (a body bringing together top French business schools). This label is granted to Specialized Masters offered by schools which are members of this organisation and is a guarantee of academic excellence.

Ph.D. programme

In Germany, ESCP Europe is authorized by the Berlin Senator for Education, Science and Research to deliver the state-recognized doctoral degree, the "Dr.rer.pol."
