Centre for Research in Economic Philosophy

Areas of Research

Economic philosophy aims to broaden horizons and expand visions of the economic science. Economic issues are nearly always intertwined with sociological, psychological, political, geopolitical, legal, administrative, cultural, epistemological, historical and even religious paradigms. Economic philosophy proposes to examine the issues from a broader, cross-disciplinary perspective, moving beyond the somewhat artificial and constricting borders of traditional social science.

Since its inception in 1999, the Centre for Research in Economic Philosophy has studied and debated the following topics: parallels between Anglo-saxon and European capitalism, epistemology of economics, and the history of European liberalism. Topics for the future include: interactions between religion and economy, management in a multicultural arena, principles of fair and efficient fiscal law, the economic role of unions, business ethics.
