ESCP is proud to have hosted the 35th International Conference of the French Finance Association (AFFI) at its Paris Campus between the 22nd and the 24th of May. The conference was jointly organized by ESCP and the Laboratory of Excellence for Financial Regulation (LabEx-ReFi), a research centre dedicated to the evaluation of regulation policies and created as an initiative of ESCP (the project coordinator), CNAM, ENA, University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and CNRS. It was marked by the presence of two prestigious guests: Maureen O’Hara, the Robert W. Purcell Professorship of Management at Cornell University’s Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, and Michael Weisbach, the Ralph W. Kurtz Chair in Finance at Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. More than 400 papers had been submitted and 250 accepted. For the first time in the association’s history, there were also round-tables with professionals and academics, including one about short-termism with Mark Roe, the David Berg Professor of Law at Harvard Law School. “We are extremely pleased with the conference, and so are the participants”, commented LabEx-ReFi Academic Director, Executive Committee member and Research Axis Supervisor Christophe Moussu, also one of the members of the conference’s organising committee with fellow ESCP Business School professors Kostas Andriosopoulos and Michael Troege.
