Meet Student Ambassador Maarten Beckx - Bachelor in Management ESCP Europe

Name: Maarten Beckx

Contact Maarten

Languages Spoken: Dutch, English and French

My Background: Went to high school in a city close to Antwerp, Belgium called Hoogstraten where I followed the science & mathematics pathway. Last year, I also did a university Foundation year in Cambridge that helped to choose the best university to suit me, the result was ESCP Europe.

My Chosen Track: London – Paris - Berlin

What I like about the Bachelor at ESCP Europe: The school is really international with people from America to China. I personally love making friends that are from different backgrounds and cultures as this so interesting to learn new and exciting things from around the world. Also, the school has a really high ranking so the lectures and seminars are very satisfying and I learn new things every day. Furthermore, the fact that you are in three major cities of Europe gives you a really unique experience that will be unforgettable.

I am looking forward to: Getting to know more people from around the world and to having awesome experiences with the people I already know. Also, I’m really looking forward to experiencing different cities and learning the local languages.

I applied to be a student ambassador because: As a high school student, the choice of university will probably be one of the biggest decision you ever make. As in my case, when I started to look for universities I quickly realised how many possibilities there were, especially when I included studying abroad. Because this made me feel lost I used all the help I could get. When I heard that I could be a help for this kind of student through being a student ambassador, I applied immediately.

Future career: I probably want to work as a consultant or start up my own company.

Something interesting about me: When I was 16 I did my first exchange program to Arizona where I caught my wanderlust to keep meeting people from other cultures and to expand my mind by having experiences with all sorts of people. This summer I did a similar program to Japan to see the Asian side of the world.
