Name: Leon Ernst

Languages Spoken: English, German, French (Intermediate), Spanish (Intermediate)

My Background: I made my German high school diploma at a public school in Southwest Germany and went for one year to a leading German business school before coming to ESCP Europe.

My Chosen Track: London – Paris - Berlin

What I like about the BSc at ESCP Europe: The BSc at ESCP, compared to the programme I did for one year in Germany, is much broader. It helps you to understand the international business context by giving you insights into other fields, like Economics, Politics and Psychology and by studying in a real international environment with people from all over the world.

I am looking forward to: I look forward to my year in Paris, where I can hopefully connect with as many people as I could in London as well as my internships this summer, which I will do in the Investment Banking department of a German bank in Frankfurt and in an international organisation in Paris.

I applied to be a student ambassador because: I realised after one year at the German university, that I hadn’t exactly found the programme I was looking for. Looking backwards, I think this time has perhaps taught me one of the most important lessons in my life.  I think this experience is something that can be very helpful for other students when they decide on their university.

My Future Career: My long-term goal after university is to work in Sovereign Advisory, meaning that I want to advise governments or state-owned entities on any financial or economic issues they might have to deal with.

Something interesting about me: While my time at high-school I’ve already been doing a lot of internships at various institutions (e.g. BlackRock, Office of Ministry of Finance of Germany), which helped me to gain a lot of experience.
