  1. What is a Full-Time Master of Science?

    The choice of a Full-Time Master of Science corresponds to a professional project and gives young graduates and young managers a combination of high-value skills sought by recruiters.

    It is a one or two year programme and by the end of it you will get an M1.

  2. What is a Full-Time Specialized Master® ESCP Europe?

    The Specialised Master is a title given by the “Conference des Grandes écoles” but it is not a diploma as such.

    The choice of a Full-Time Specialized Master® corresponds to a professional project and gives young graduates and young managers a combination of high-value skills sought by recruiters.

    This programme provides academic expertise and presentation of the best professional practices. Our goal is to train experts who will be rapidly able to progress in a globalized world.

  3. What is the difference between the Masters of Science, the Executive Specialized Master®s and the Full-Time Specialized Masters®?

    - The Master of Science is open to anyone who obtained a Bachelor degree or a Master’s degree in any field of study (minimum 180 ECTS credits). It will enable you to be ready to jump into the job market while becoming a data specialist.

    - The Full-Time Specialized Master® programmes are open to everyone who has an M2 or an M1 - Master 1 (BAC + 4) or Master 1 (BAC+3) with 3 years of work experience may also apply in a limited number representing 30% of each program’s headcounts.

    It corresponds to a professional project and gives young graduates and young managers a combination of high-value skills sought by recruiters. It does not allow the maintenance of a professional activity. This programme combines academic expertise and presentation of the best business practices. Our goal is to train experts able to progress rapidly in a globalized world. The choice of a "Full Time Intensive" format enables an immediate access to positions of responsibility thanks to a short and dense tuition and an internship.

    - The Executive Specialized Masters® ESCP Europe, known as “Part-Time", are degree programmes allowing young managers with high potential and with at least three years of professional experience, to complete their initial curriculum with expertise training in a specific management area. The programme allows the maintenance of a professional activity (2 sessions per month, Friday and Saturday morning and 2 to 3 seminars a week). The Executive Specialized Masters® benefit from strong connections with the industry - an advantage for the development of managerial and technical skills.

  4. What is the difference between the Full-Time Specialized Masters® (MS) and the MBA in International Management?

    These two one year program offered by ESCP Europe are both 3rd degree programs.

    The MBA in International Management is a one-year, two-country full-time programme which provides young professionals with the business skills and mindset for a successful international career. Applicants need a minimum of 3 years’ work experience

    The Specialized Masters® Full-Time (MS) are specialised programs in a profession or a sector (Finance, Marketing or Consulting for instance). MS Students’profile is generally composed of 17% non-French students with 40 nationalities, various initial backgrounds (engineering school, economics, management schools, law, political sciences, literature, human sciences, life sciences, decorative arts, architecture…). 

  5. What is the schedule and duration of the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics’ programme at ESCP Europe

    As a dynamic training based on a conceptual and practical pedagogy, the Full-Time Master of Science in Big Data and Business Analytics includes:

    9 month-courses: 6 months in Paris and 3 months in Berlin - fundamental contributions, case studies, group projects.

    An international seminar in China

    An internship of at least 4 months and a professional thesis which concludes the training.

  6. Who is the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics addressed to?

    You do not require a specific prior degree. A strong interest in Big Data is needed to join the programme.

    The MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics (MSc) is a one-year training addressed to French and foreign students:

    Usually, students are holders of a Bachelor degree in :

    - Engineering degree (entitled by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieurs)

    - Business School diploma (from a school member of the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles)

    - Political science

    - Marketing and Communication, etc.

    No prior work experience is needed

  8. I don’t have any initial training neither in Data science nor in Management, can I still do the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics?

    Yes, of course. The MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics at ESCP Europe is a way to gain a double skill. You do not require a specific prior degree. 

  9. Do you offer a part-time programme?

    It is a full-time programme and there is no part-time format offered. 

  10. Is there any minimum of GPA (Grade Point Average) required for the the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics?

    There is no minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) requested for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics.

  11. Are the courses entirely in English?

    Yes, you need to have a full proficiency in English

  12. What is the level required in French?

    No specific level is required in French since all the courses are taught in English.

    But French will be useful for your life outside the Campus.

  13. Can I apply for different ESCP Europe programmes?

    If you meet the admission’s requirements, you may apply to other programmes of the school, and you have to mention it when you apply for a Full-Time MS and MScs.

    For each programme, you can apply only once a year via only one competitive exam.

    You may submit your application to one Full-Time Specialized Masters® and to the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics but you will have to pay 260€ in 2018.

    In addition, you may submit your application for a maximum of two Full-Time Specialized Masters®. 

    If you apply for two Full-Time Specialized Masters®, you must fill in two separate files and pay 195€ in 2018 for application fees.

    Application fees are non-refundable.

    Students benefiting from the CROUS scholarship are exempted from application fees and must enclose a copy of their CROUS scholarship certificate for the current year.

  14. Is my professional experience an advantage?

    Every single experience is highlighted, especially if it is incorporated within a constructed professional project.

  15. What is the age limit to apply for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics?

    There is no age limit to apply for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics.

    The average age is 25 years.

    During the oral test, the consistency of the professional project will be evaluated.

  16. What is the application fee for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics? Is it refundable?

    There is an application fee of 130€.

    Application fees are compulsory and non-refundable.

  17. What are the admission procedure and the calendar?

    The online registration is mandatory.

    Carefully complete the online application form, providing all required documents.

    The selection is in two stages.

    Stage 1 - Review of the candidate’s application file and of the English test score:

    Students must submit a copy of the results of a TOEFL or a TOEIC listening and reading score or IELTS score (taken within the last two years) in their application file.

    GMAT, TAGE-MAGE or GRE is NOT REQUIRED for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics

  18. What are the required documents to apply to the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics?

    The required documents to apply are the following:

    •    A copy of a master/bachelor diploma obtained or a certificate of enrolment for current studies

    •    Photocopy of passport or identity card

    •    Your resume (curriculum vitae)

    •    2 letters of recommendations

    •    Advanced English level (copy of your result for one of the following test: TOEFL or TOEIC or IELTS)

    •   Applicants who are native English-speakers or who have lived at least 2 years into a English-speaking country are exempted of English test result. 

  19. Can I be exempted of taking the English test: TOEFL, TOEIC or IELTS?

    You can be exempted of taking the English test only if you come from a country where English is an official language or if you have spent a minimum of two years in an English-speaking country.

    If you complied your studies in English in a non-English speaking country, you still have to take the test.

  20. Do you have any specific format for the recommendation letters?

    To apply for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics, you need to provide two letters of recommendation. 

    One academic letter and one professional letter have to be sent to our Admissions department. If you cannot submit one of each, you may submit two academic letters or two professional letters.

    You can upload the template from our website and send it to your referees. Your referees will have to fill it in and send it directly to the school at: ms-concours@escpeurope.eu 

    If you already have reference letters in another format, you can also send them.

    The letters of recommendation have to be written in French or in English.

  21. How many admission sessions are there?

    3 annual sessions take place, in January, April-May, and a third one in June-July.

  22. Where do admission sessions (written tests, specific tests, and oral tests) take place?

    Location:

    In case of eligibility, the personal interview will take place at the Paris Campus.

    If you live abroad and cannot travel during that period, the interview can be conducted via Skype.

  23. Are there additional tests for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics?

    There is no additional test.

    There are no minima required for these different scores. Each application file is evaluated compared to all the files received.

    But you need to have a good level of English to be able to follow the courses.

  26. How to prepare for TOEIC, TOEFL or IELTS tests?

    To prepare these tests:

    Numerous books were published and might help you to prepare for these tests. 

  27. Where can I find the admission results?

    You will receive an e-mail with your results.

  28. How are oral tests organised?

    Location: they take place on Paris Campus. You will be received by students and by the programme manager and you will be able to ask them your questions. 

    If you live abroad and cannot travel during that period, please contact the programme manager in order to plan an oral test via Skype.

    Schedule: The jury is composed of a minimum of 2 persons – the Academic Director of the MSc and a school representative or an alumnus.

    Objectives: The interview aims at evaluating student’s motivation and career plan.

  29. I don’t currently live in France. How can I organise an interview?

    If you live abroad and cannot travel during that period, please contact the program manager of MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics in order to plan an oral test via Skype.

  30. I have been accepted in the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics but I cannot join the programme for the September intake. Can I postpone my admission?

    A postponement is an exception.

    The request must be written, legitimate and sent to the Academic Director as soon as the results of admission are published.

  32. What are the fees for the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics?

    The fees for the academic year 2018/2019 are 18,500€.

    It includes the travel and accommodation in China for the international seminar. Other expenses: Visas, meals... have to be paid by the students.

    Accommodation and transportation fees in Paris and Berlin are not included.

    Tuition fees have to be paid in November or in 6 times between November 2018 and April 2019.

     

  33. When is the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics intake?

    Intake: September

    It is not possible to start at any other time during the year.

  34. Are there scholarships?

    For admitted students, you can apply for a scholarship between July and September of your intake year.

    1. ESCP Europe gives scholarships based on social criteria. It means you can get a 10% reduction on tuition fees – it will be reviewed year by year. You will receive some information by e-mail from July 2018.

    Otherwise, I advise you to contact Campus France organization of your country of residence can give you more information on studying in France and scholarships.

    What sort of VISA do I get?

    Once you join ESCP Europe, you will get a student Visa. With the student Visa, you will be able to work up to 20 hours per week.

    When you finish the courses, you can apply for a work permit in France which will allow to work in France for 12 months. ESCP Europe does not deliver work permits for Germany.

  35. Where do the courses take place?

    Most classes take place at our Parisian Campus ESCP Europe Montparnasse, 3 Rue Armand Moisant, 75015 Paris. A few courses will be at our Parisian campus ESCP Europe République, 79 avenue de la République, 75011 Paris.

    Part of the MSc in Big Data & Business Analytics curriculum will take place abroad, at our Berlin Campus and in China for the international seminar.

  36. How does ESCP Europe help us to find an internship or a job?

    There are several means made available to students: 

    A CV book from the MSc is distributed to companies so they can explore all students’ profiles.

    Numerous one-off meetings are organised with human resources professionals who come in order to propose jobs and internships.

    Corporate Relations service regularly organises forums and meetings with companies by business sector or all of them taken together.

    Beyond, the Academic Director has an important coaching and counselling (advices on career plans) to the students during the year.

    The Forum Entreprises takes place in January every year at the Palais des Congrès de Paris and gathers more than 150 companies from all kinds of business sectors.
