Mélanie Keïta

What did you do before you started your Master degree?

Before studying in the Sustainability Master of ESCP Europe, I was working in an impact investment fund financing African SMEs in Paris. I studied Corporate Financial Management for five years and I finished my curriculum with this 9-month work placement.

Why did you decide to study the Master in International Sustainability Management at ESCP Europe?

I have always been interested in sustainability issues, more particularly in developing countries like Sub-Saharan African countries, whose economic and social developments strongly depend on the emergence of more sustainable, conscious and ecological projects. With my financial master I wanted to have an additional expertise on what passionates me the most, in order to be more aware of the challenges our generation is currently facing. By entering this Master, I realized how broad the topic of sustainability was, and how important it was to deepen our knowledge on ecological, economical and ethical notions in order to have the right impact on our world.

What are your plans after your graduation?

This master opened to me new perspectives regarding my career, and even though I am planning to start my own company on sustainability after my graduation, I still keep in mind the option of continuing my career in impact investment.
