ESCP Europe

State-recognized school

There are over 200 schools offering business and management degrees in France; of these, only about half are recognized by the State. ESCP Europe is one of these.

EQUIS

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) has established high standards for the quality assessment of business schools: the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Of the several hundred business schools in Europe, 59 have achieved EQUIS accreditation; ESCP Europe obtained its first accreditation in 1998, and was reaccredited in 2003 and in 2009.

AACSB

is the leading American accrediting body of business schools. For many years non-American business schools have enjoyed "membership" in the AACSB but only a very few have been accredited by AACSB. AACSB accreditation means that the business school meets the same very high quality standards demanded of top American business schools. ESCP Europe’s degree programmes were accredited in 2003.

3 National Memberships

Most European countries have a tightly-knit association of top business schools in the country.
In France, it is the "Conférence des Grandes Ecoles" (CGE) which includes 32 management schools.
In the UK, ESCP Europe is a member of the Association of Business Schools (ABS), grouping 102 leading business schools.
In Germany, ESCP Europe is one of the founding members of the VHP, (Verband der privaten Hochschulen), the German federation of private universities, which was created in 2004 and represents the common interests of 30 private universities.

Master in Management

State-recognized degrees

If a school's degree is recognized by the French Ministry of Education ("diplôme visé"), its degree is a State degree. A special commission appointed by the Ministry of Education determines which schools may deliver a state recognized degree. ESCP Europe is one of about 90 in France authorized to do so.
ESCP Europe is also authorized by the Berlin Senator for Education, Science and Research to deliver the state-recognized degrees "Diplom-Kaufmann/-frau" and "Master of Science (M.Sc.)".

Grade de Master

The Ministry-appointed special commission has authorized 53 business schools in France to deliver a Master degree in management ("grade de master"), representing 5 years of higher education. ESCP Europe is one of these schools and the Master in Management has the official French title of grade de master.

International Validation

In Germany, the Berlin Campus delivers the state-recognized degrees "Diplom-Kaufmann/-frau" and "Master of Science (M.Sc.)".
In the UK, some universities holding a university charter establish specific quality standards which they use to evaluate the quality of education carried out by another academic institution. If the chartered university finds the quality up to standard, it may, under specific conditions, "validate" the institution's degree. ESCP Europe's Master in Management is validated by City University as a European Master in Management (MSc).
In Italy, by virtue of the school’s academic association with the University of Torino (Faculty of Economics) for the Italian campus, ESCP Europe also enjoys validation of its Master in Management as a Laurea magistrale.
In Spain, the Master in Management is officially recognized by the Carlos III University of Madrid and awarded the title of Master Europeo en Administración y Dirección de Empresas, ESCP Europe.

CFA Program Partner

ESCP Europe is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Program Partner. CFA Programme Partners are selected colleges and universities around the world that have embedded a significant percentage (70%) of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge into their degree programs. In addition, these institutions have committed to covering CFA Institute ethical and professional standards in these degree programs. Recognition as a CFA Partner provides a signal to potential students, current students, and the marketplace that the university curriculum is closely tied to professional practice and is well suited to preparing students to sit for the CFA exams.

.

European Executive MBA (EEMBA)

AMBA

is a European accrediting body for MBA and Master in Management programs. Only programs meeting strict definitions and standards achieve AMBA accreditation. One key criterion for MBA accreditation is the program participants’ significant previous work experience; therefore AMBA-accredited MBAs are post-experience programs. ESCP Europe's MBA portfolio was AMBA-accredited in 1998 and reaccredited in 2004.

.

Master in European Business (MEB)

Grade de Master

The Ministry-appointed special commission has authorized 53 business schools in France to deliver a Master degree in management ("grade de master"), representing 5 years of higher education. ESCP Europe is one of these schools and the Master in European Business has the official French title of grade de master.

AMBA-MBM

AMBA created a second accreditation devoted to pre-experience Masters in Management programs: AMBA-MBM (Masters in Business and Management). The Master in European Business (MEB) became one of the first 13 AMBA-MBM-accredited programmes in 2005.

.

Specialized Masters

Label de la Conférence des Grandes Ecoles

The ESCP Europe Specialized Masters are accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (a body bringing together French business schools). This label is granted to Specialized Masters offered by schools which are members of the Conférence and is a guarantee of academic excellence.

.

Promotionsstudium - German Ph.D.

  • In Germany, ESCP Europe is authorized by the Berlin Senator for Education, Science and Research to deliver the state-recognized doctoral degree, the "Dr.rer.pol.".
