The German Academic Association for Business Research (vhb) has more than 1600 members, especially university professors holding a habilitation degree. The aim of the association is to promote the development of business administration and its neighbouring disciplines. The promotion of business research and teaching, as well as the promotion of young researchers is the main task of the association. Networking between its members and practitioners in similar national and international institutions is another field of interest of the vhb.

The association is, amongst others, composed of 16 different scientific commissions (WK), which promote research and teaching, take care about young researchers and the organisation of scientific meetings according to their field of interest.

The scientific commission Philosophy of Science is addressed to all scientists within the association, who deal with questions in the field of philosophy of science in general as well as related to business administration and business information systems.
