Why a leadership programme exclusively for women?


Leadership competence is independent from gender and other ascriptive characteristics. A leadership training exclusively for women allows to reflect on unique challenges women encounter in a work environment with mainly male counterparts.





Discuss with peers from different backgrounds to gain a broader perspective on how to succeed as a female leader: The programme is designed for female leaders, project managers, and entrepreneurs who want to enhance their leadership skills in an international setting. Participants should have a minimum of five years of working experience.



Academic Direction


The programme is developed and taught by experienced professors from ESCP Europe, some parts will be accompanied by professional coachs.


Prof. Dr. Katharina Balazs

Katharina Balazs is Professor of Leadership in the Strategy, HR & Organization Department at ESCP Europe, Paris campus, as well as Executive Coach. In her executive development and coaching work she specialises in woman leadership trainings, executives and board dynamics, and works with both teams and individuals. 


Prof. Dr. Marion Festing

Marion Festing is Professor of Human Resource Management and Intercultural Leadership and was Rector of the Berlin Campus from 2012 to March 2017. Her research and teaching focus is international HR, intercultural leadership and gender in management.


Prof. Dr. Véronique Tran

Veronique Tran is Professor of Organisational Behaviour at ESCP Europe, Paris campus. She teaches in executive education with an emphasis on topics such as personality, teams, decision-making, leadership, and emotional competence. She is a certified trainer for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), as well as 360° feedback.

Succeed as a female leader


Knowing that women in a male-dominated work environment encounter unique challenges, we will discuss the origins of gender differences and the resulting gender gap. This knowledge, practical examples, and our exchange of experiences will provide the basis for the four-day programme and help you to master these challenges in the future.


Unfold your own leadership style 


We will use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) as a tool to understand how different personality types affect leadership, effective teamwork, communication, and decision-making. This will help you to improve your personal, authentic leadership style and to form and lead effective teams by considering different personality types.


Leverage the dynamics of power and influence


In this session we will discuss how to use dynamics of power and influence responsibly to achieve the best outcome for your organisation, your team and yourself.

You will analyse different sources of power, learn to enhance your influence, and improve to build credibility.


Create and use networks


You will analyse your network of professional relationships and develop strategies to improve them in order to leverage your impact

Our exclusive networking events will provide additional opportunities to extend your network during the programme.


Master negotiation


During negotiation situations you will explore different ways to achieve your objectives and get valuable feedback. You will reflect on how you behave in conflict situations and improve your negotiation and communication skills.


Build leadership presence and impact


Leadership presence is about how others perceive us as leaders; it includes our verbal skills and body language as well as the ability to demonstrate credibility, confidence and composure.

Through an acting workshop, filmed presentations and reflection in groups you will increase these skills, identify your strengths and raise your awareness of how others see you. As a result you will enhance your leadership presence and your impact as a leader.


Grow through group coaching


Based on the input of the first three days, you will create your individual action plan for mastering your next challenges and for achieving your goals together with a top executive coach.

After the programme, you can attend optional online sessions to maximise your learning impact through follow-up and reflections about your experiences.
