Biography

Jacques Pansard is a Physicist Engineer from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (1973) and also a graduateof the Institut d'Administration des Entreprises de Paris (1974).
He is an Affiliate Professor at ESCP Europe and an independent consultant. He is also a lecturer in Project Management at Paris Dauphine University and an IT Expert for OSEO ANVAR. He has been independent since September 1999.
Professor Pansard began his career as a software engineer with SG2, a software subsidiary of the Société Générale. He later joined Coopers & Lybrand as an IT Consultant, then as a Partner in charge of the IT department (Paris). In 1990, he was appointed Chief Executive of CESIA, a French consultancy firm. He launched a joint venture with Eurisys a French industrial services network (COGEMA). He became an IT Expert for COGEMA in 1994. In 1997, he joined ORGACONSEIL, a leading French management consultant, as an Associate Director.

Current research

Professor Pansard has been involved in many projects focusing on the optimization of business performances using Information technologies. Based on his research and consultancy experience, he has been able to recommend new organizational rules for the improvement of overall efficiency in IT projects. He has focused on original approaches for change management. His next book will discuss the necessary organizational skills and attendant change operations for the successful launch of new business opportunities using information technologies. It is intended to help experienced executives extend their professional shelf life.
