Roberto Berardi has been an Affiliate Professor of Marketing at ESCP Europe Torino campus since early 2006.
After a degree in engineering from the Politecnico of Turin, he worked as Product Manager for Scottex Casa, a firm specializing in the manufacture of kitchen towels which literally created the category in Italy.
He soon assumed positions in Sales and Logistics and held the position of Sales Director of Scott Italy, until he became Managing Director of Scott Spain and, later, Italy.
After Kimberly Clark acquired Scott, he was promoted to the position of Vice President for Southern Europe, then President for the entire European Family Care Business. This job included strategy and investments decisions for Europe, Marketing, R&D, Planning, Production (14 factories - 4,500 reporting people) and the management of a turnover of $ 1,500 M.
He is currently Chairman of the European Tissue Symposium, the Association of the European Tissue Producers, which includes all the major European tissue companies such as SCA, Georgia Pacific, Kimberly Clark, Metsa, Sofidel, Wepa, etc.
In this function he leads groups in charge of developing market product categories from a total Industry perspective.
At ESCP Europe Turin he teaches Marketing to students in the following programmes: Master Grande Ecole, MEB, MEBJ, GMP, CET. He lectures on Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behaviour and Branding.
One of his key areas of focus within branding are Private Labels and the development of Hard Discounts.
