Biography

Adolfo Castilla is an affiliate professor of Strategic Management in the EMIB Program at ESCP Europe Madrid Campus. He is also Business Ambassador. Catedrático de Economía Aplicada, Doctor Ingeniero del ICAI, Licenciado en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, MBA Wharton School, Master of Science en Ingeniería de Sistemas e Investigación Operativa Moore School, Licenciado en Informática Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Adolfo Castilla is Chairman and CEO of Adolfo Castilla y Asociados S.L, a consultancy company active in Strategic Management, Strategic Planning, Strategies Formulation and General Management, as well as in Foresight and Technological Forecasting, Innovation Management, Technomanagement, and Technology Surveillance. Recent projects have been related to Balanced Scorecard, Organizational Learning, Knowledge Management, BPM and EAI among other management areas. High experience in Internet, Web Pages and all kind of Internet related business. 

He is also Full Professor (Catedrático de Economía Aplicada) at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, Madrid; Strategic Management Professor at CEPADE (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid); Strategic Management Professor at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Madrid. He studied at Moore and Wharton Schools from University of Pennsylvania and spent close to five year over there. He used to study and work with Russell L. Ackoff (Management Science and Social System Science), Hasan Ozbekhan (Foresight Studies), Edwin Mansfield (Technology Economics and Management) and, particularly with, Lawrence R. Klein, 1980 Nobel Price of Economics.

Up until 2003 he was President of FLAG Telecom España, S.A. and Vicepresident of FLAG Telecom Ltd., a Telecom Multinational “Carriers’ Carrier” headquartered in London with a worldwide optical fiber submarine cables network. He was very successful in introducing the company in Spain, Portugal and Latin America. He also used to be member of the Board of 17 subsidiary FLAG Group companies around the World.
