Claire Dambrin is Associate Professor in the Management Control Department at ESCP Europe Paris campus. She earned her Doctorate in Management Science from Paris Dauphine University in 2005. Before joining ESCP Europe in October 2012, Claire Dambrin was an associate professor in management control at HEC Paris for eight years. In 2005, she was a visiting researcher at the Department of Accounting of the London School of Economics. She was also invited as a visiting researcher to the Stan Ross Department of Accountancy of Baruch College (City University of New York) in 2008-2009. Since 2008, she is co-organizing the annual workshop on Management Accounting as Social and Organizational Practice which stands alternatively in France, U.K and Denmark. Claire is member of the editorial board of Accounting, Organizations and Society, Management Accounting Research and Critical Perspectives on Accounting.
Claire Dambrin’s research deals with the sociology of accounting & management control. In particular, she investigates the socio-institutional conditions of emergence and consequences of calculative devices such as performance measurement systems or incentives. Another part of Claire’s research deals with gender and professionalization.
