Roberto Quaglia is an Associate Professor at ESCP Europe Paris Campus. Professor of Strategy & Management, he teaches Strategy, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Entrepreneurship, Family Business, Organisational Behavior, Leadership, and Organisation. He teaches both to Master/MBA students (Strategy, Organizational Behavior and Problem Solving and Decision Making) and to Executives, in numerous open enrolment and custom programmes. During his courses, he uses various teaching tools of action learning: case studies, role-plays, simulations, business games, coaching on real life challenges.
Roberto’s research interests are in strategy, change management, leadership, family business, problem solving, decision making, entrepreneurship, organizational behavior, corporate transformation, strategic renewal, corporate governance. He is the author of articles, policy papers, books, case studies and papers that have been presented at international research conferences.
He is a graduate of ESCP Europe and of the University of Turin (1997). He holds a Master’s in European Management (UK), the Diplom Kaufmann (D), the Diplôme des Grandes Ecoles (F) and the Laurea in Economia (I). He earned his doctorate in Management Sciences from the Université Panthéon-Assas - Paris II, in Paris, with a thesis on "CEO’s career paths and profiles".
His professional career started with a number of Internships in Arcelor in France, Ferrero in Germany, Becker und Partner in Germany, Pro Product Co. in USA and Lavazza in Italy. He then moved to consulting, first with Arthur Andersen and then with McKinsey and Co., where he developed most of his pre-Academic career. In October 2003 he left McKinsey, to head a Development Committee, which successfully gathered the support and funding to open the Italian campus of ESCP Europe in February 2004. Since then, Roberto has been with ESCP Europe as Managing Director and Associate Professor; Roberto is also an entrepreneur investing in start-ups and he works with private companies and Institutions as a consultant or Board Member.
Roberto’s mother tongue is Italian, he is fluent in English, French and he has a basic knowledge of German and Spanish.
