On October 1st, Andreas Kaplan was named Academic Dean of ESCP Europe.

The Academic Director for the new Bachelor degree programme is Benjamin Voyer and Léon Laulusa obtains the position of Dean for International Relations.

  • Andreas Kaplan, new Academic Dean of ESCP Europe

Andreas M. Kaplan, 37, is Professor of Marketing and Communications at ESCP Europe, where he currently serves as the Dean for Academic Affairs as part of the School's executive committee.

Previously, he held the position of the Director of Brand and Communications and was elected Head of the Faculty's marketing department. Before joining ESCP Europe, Andreas started his career as marketing professor at the ESSEC Business School and Sciences Po Paris.

Professor Kaplan completed his Habilitation (post-doctoral qualification for Ph.D. supervisor) at the Sorbonne Graduate Business School (University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne) and his Ph.D. at the University of Cologne in co-operation with HEC School of Management. He holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA; French National School of Public Administration), an MSc from ESCP Europe, and a BSc from the University of Munich. Additionally, Andreas was visiting Ph.D. at INSEAD and participated in the International Teachers Programme (ITP) at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.

Professor Kaplan's research mainly deals with analysing and decrypting social media and viral marketing, domains in which he consults national and international companies. He is particularly interested in the future of management education and the general business school landscape. Notably, he has written an article titled "European Management and European Business Schools", defining and exploring management in Europe.

  • Benjamin Voyer, Academic Director of the new Bachelor

Dr Voyer received a PhD in Social Psychology from the London School of Economics (LSE), and a doctorate of science in management (DSc / Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from the Sorbonne University in Paris.

Before this, he studied marketing at HEC Paris and the London Business School. He is also a chartered psychologist in the UK (CPsychol), a chartered scientist (CSci), and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Dr Voyer’s research focuses on self-perception, and the way it affects consumption and behaviours in organisations.

He has authored or co-authored more than 70 scientific contributions to the field of applied psychology (journal articles, conference presentations, case studies...).

Beyond academic research, he also collaborates with the media (TV, radio, press) as a scientific consultant (CNN International, The Washington Post, Sky News, CNBC, BBC 2, BBC Radio 4, Financial Times...). He worked for several years as a marketing practitioner in different industries, including FMCGs, banks, and public institutions and remains a freelance consultant in the area of marketing and organisational psychology.


  • Léon Laulusa, new Dean for International Relations

Leon Laulusa, 46 years old, Ph.D. in Management (Paris-Dauphine University), French Chartered Accountant and graduated from IAE de Paris, is a Professor and Dean for International Relations at ESCP Europe.

He is an ITP alumnus from Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University). His main research interests span from international financial accounting to the impact of national culture on firms’ management

Alongside his teaching and research activities, Dr Léon Laulusa advises top management in strategic performance, governance and finance issues in international environment. He is invited professor at the University of Tongji Shanghai. Previously, he was part-time lecturer at HEC Paris, Paris-Dauphine University, the Institut National des Telecommunications (INT).

He served as a Partner in Audit and then in China Desk and Consulting practice at Deloitte and was former Managing Partner of China Desk and the consulting practice at BDO M&G (member of BDO International – the world’s fifth largest public accounting network) for which he led various projects and consulting assignments at both national and international levels, and more specifically in Asian countries on behalf of large listed firms and governmental organizations like European Commissions and World Bank.
