ESCP Europe No.3 worldwide in the FT’s Masters in Finance Rankings 2015

ESCP Europe Business School is proud to announce that its Specialised Masters in Finance degree has risen 5 places in the Financial Times annual rankings to 3rd position.

In its five campus countries, the School has been ranked no.1 in the UK, Germany and Italy, and no.2 in France and Spain.

The high ranking reflects the international dimensions of the programme, taught in French and English in Paris and London, with 71% international faculty; and the success students experienced in finding jobs (95% at 3 months after graduation) and in terms of ‘aims achieved’ (92%).

ESCP Europe launched its Specialised Master in Finance degree in 1987 with a commitment to keeping its course content up-to-date, in line with changing market needs. To achieve this, top faculty maintain regular contact with leaders in the world of finance, drawn from its extensive alumni network and long-standing relationships with financial institutions across the sector.

The programme’s Academic Director, Dr Philippe Thomas, who has worked in investment banking and in the Reuters Group, said “This great ranking reflects the fact that our Specialised Master in Finance alumni in very senior finance roles make up 40% of our advisory board and work with our professors to ensure high selection criteria for students and high course quality.”

In line with ESCP Europe’s unique transnational positioning, the one-year programme incorporates 25 weeks of academic study, split between two campuses, with 15 weeks in Paris, and 10 weeks in London. Students then gain professional experience through an internship of some four months, and finish with a thesis based on an individual research project.

ESCP Europe’s Dean, Dr Frank Bournois said: “We are very proud of this FT ranking which recognises ESCP Europe’s unique strengths in providing a truly international academic experience, coupled with our strong ties with leaders in the finance sector who help us keep the course content relevant”.

ESCP Europe’s UK Director, Dr Simon Mercado said: “This is a fantastic success for a dedicated programme team and yet further illustration of the power of the ESCP Europe academic model. In welcoming SMIF students to London each year as a part of their programme, we provide a basis for study in the heart of the world's financial centre and immersion in a second national environment and culture. This adds enormous value to our student's experience and career prospects.”
