Graduates and companies present at the ESCP Europe Foundation General Assembly

The ESCP Europe Foundation, which was recognised as a public organisation in March 2012, welcomed 130 graduates and company representatives to their “General Assembly” which took place on the 20th of September in the prestigious function rooms at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris.

Donors came together with the President of the Foundation, Patrick Gounelle (72), in the presence of the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris, Pierre-Antoine Gailly and the recently appointed Dean of ESCP Europe, Edouard Husson, all of whom warmly thanked the donors to the  ESCP Europe Foundation.

The evening began with the presentation of the Foundation's financial results and the outlook for the up-coming year and in particular the priority given to the two areas of financing: Research and Diversity at ESCP Europe. Edouard Husson announced the publication of the Financial Times Ranking which places the ESCP Europe Master in Management in 2nd place worldwide this year. He also evoked the school's major projects, development issues and its international ambition in a highly competitive context.

High points of the evening: the projection of a film dedicated to the Foundation’s company patrons with testimonials from Daniel Harari, the Director General of Lectra, which supports the Institute for Innovation and Competitiveness, Véronique Poulard, the Global Head of Leadership and Talent Management from the Société Générale who created a research and teaching chair at the school. Both testimonials insisted on the need for companies to develop partnerships with Business Schools to promote excellence and innovation and on the existence of a common vision between ESCP Europe and their company.

This year, as in previous years the Foundation honoured students from the school, who directly benefit from graduates donations. Alexandre Robinet (Class of 2014) spoke of the positive impact that the Foundation’s support had had on his studies and Andrien Rivierre (Class of 2014) spoke with passion about his unforgettable experience at Start@Europe, the Master in Management opening seminar which takes place at the European Parliament, and is co-financed by the Foundation.

Beyond thanking the donors, the event was above all an opportunity to bring together graduates from different year-classes and to talk to the Dean of the school, members of the board, professors and current students.

Save the date for the next ESCP Europe Foundation General Assembly which will take place on the 17th October 2013.
