London professor wins research award

Congratulations to Minas Kastanakis, Assistant Professor in Consumer Behaviour at the London campus! He picked up the Best Conference Paper award from the 2010 Global Marketing Conference in Tokyo with his work Between the Mass and the Class: Antecedents of the 'Bandwagon' Luxury Consumption Behaviour.

Minas holds a PhD in Marketing from Cass Business School, City University.

He started his career in sales with L’Oréal and was later promoted to marketing. His experience includes luxury products, FMCGs, real estate investments, telecoms, banking and venture capital projects.

His research interests include the role of self-concept, motives, consumer values and personality traits as determinants of consumption and, most importantly, predictors of behaviour; luxury products; marketing models; and applications of these subject areas in branding, communication and advertising.
