Professors Valérie Moatti and Pramuan Bunkanwanicha are appointed respectively Dean of Faculty and Associate Dean for Research at ESCP Europe

The CCI Paris Ile de France announces they will take office in September 2017.

ESCP Europe, the international business school with six integrated campuses across Europe, is pleased to announce the nominations of Professor Valerie Moatti as Dean of Faculty, and Pramuan Bunkanwanicha as Associate Dean for Research, for a 3-year term of office, starting on September 2017.

  • Valérie Moatti is elected as ESCP Europe Dean of Faculty

Valérie Moatti is a Professor in the department of “Information and Operations Management" on the Paris Campus. She is an ESCP Europe alumni with a thorough professional background, working with Procter & Gamble, and PPR (now Kering), where she was in charge of development and venture capital with the strategy department. After her PhD at HEC (2005), she joined the ESCP Europe Faculty where she developed her expertise in supply chain management. She teaches supply chain management, operations management and strategy. Her research, published in prominent international journals (Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics,...), focuses on the company growth strategies, sustainable development and the strategic dimension of supply chain management. She is the Academic Director of the ESCP Europe-Lectra Chair in Fashion and Technology created in 2014.

  • Pramuan Bunkanwanicha is appointed Associate Dean for Research at ESCP Europe

Pramuan Bunkanwanicha is a full Professor of Finance at the ESCP Europe Paris Campus, where he teaches Corporate Finance, Emerging Markets Finance, and International Finance. He obtained his Ph.D in Economics from the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in 2006 and his Habilitation in Management Sciences from the Université Paris - Dauphine in 2013. He also holds an MBA from AIT and a B.Eng. from King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok. Prior to joining ESCP Europe, he was a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School and Yale University. He was also a visiting professor at Boston College and Hitotsubashi University.

His research interests focuses on the intersection between family business, political connections, and finance. Several of his papers have been published in top-tier finance and economic journals, e.g. in the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Journal of Comparative Economics. His research has been also presented in major academic conferences such as those of the American Finance Association (AFA), the Western Finance Association (WFA), and the European Finance Association (EFA).

Valérie Moatti declares: "I feel deeply honoured to have been elected by my peers as Dean of the Faculty. The international reputation and the unique European positioning of our school are based above all on the scientific prestige of our Faculty. I look forward to the many challenges that lie ahead of us, and that our 6-campus strong Faculty will meet to maintain and strengthen our position."

As members of the Executive Board, they will also play an active part in ESCP Europe’s development strategy".
