Eric Descourtieux, CFO Perenco, presents: 'Social Responsibility in Emerging Countries: A Key Factor of Success'

Wednesday, 16th November 2011 at 7:00pm
ESCP Europe Business School

Eric Descourtieux graduated from ESCP Europe Business School in 1988, and now has more than 20 years of international experience in both operational and financial positions in large companies. Eric started his professional career at the Aerospace group Aerospatiale where he held positions at the Headquarters in Paris, in the Washington DC purchasing office, and eventually as Financial Controller of the Eurocopter business unit La Courneuve-Paris. After a position of Financial Controller at the KFC's branch of the Pepsico group in France, he joined the independent European oil and gas company Perenco in 1997, holding positions in Gabon, Guatemala, Venezuela and Colombia as Finance Manager or General Manager of the business units. In 2008, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Perenco in London.

Perenco has operations in 16 countries across the globe, ranging from Northern Europe to Africa, and South America to the Middle East, both on- and offshore. Perenco currently produces approximately 280,000 boepd (barrels of oil equivalent per day), of which 175,000 is net to the company, generating a turnover of over 4bn USD. The group is present in world-class exploration basins such as Brazil, Peru, Northern Iraq, Australia and the North Sea. While Perenco's growth has been driven by acquisitions, the Group's strategy evolved rapidly towards increasing production and reserves, renewing licenses, and securing additional acreage for new exploration and development opportunities. Perenco now has a balanced portfolio with a solid production base, development projects and high quality exploration prospects.

The lectures will be followed by a formal question and answer session, allowing for a lively discussion of the theories presented, and after this a more informal opportunity to mingle over refreshments.

Economy 21st is a series of lectures providing a high-profile platform for industry leaders and influential thinkers in the world of business. As diverse as our School, Economy 21st covers topics from the fields of Marketing, HR, Finance, Energy and Sustainability.

There are 100 places to allocate for this event. Please register your attendance by contacting Kasia Wolenska by email or by phone: +44 (0)20 7443 8819 by 7th November 2011.
