ESCP Europe and Brexit: A Message from the Dean and UK Director

Dear professors,
Dear colleagues,
Dear students,

The result of the UK Referendum comes as a disappointment to many in the UK Higher Education sector, including ESCP Europe.

ESCP Europe fully respects the decision of the UK electorate, but there are many reasons to believe that the outcome will create challenges for education providers. It will take many months for the full consequences of this decision to be understood as a UK exit from the EU will not happen for some time. If the UK Parliament approves the result of the public referendum, there will be a gradual exit process with significant conversation around the alternatives to full EU membership.
ESCP Europe remains fully committed to its international model and to its London campus that stands more than ever at the heart of our business school strategy. We will continue to promote the UK as a welcoming destination for our staff and students and to move on with our plans to develop our London Campus.
Regardless of the referendum result, our unflagging mission is to develop future European and international leaders. The UK's potential EU exit will in no way affect the unique experience that ESCP Europe provides to its students and partner companies.
We are truly confident that the rights of our UK-based faculty, staff and students to remain in the UK are without present challenge. Alongside other higher education institutions, we fully expect that the European Union and UK Government will take steps to ensure that staff and students from EU countries can continue to work and study in the UK.
We will respond to any major developments in this context with commitment to our values and community.
Best regards,
Frank Bournois, Dean
& Simon Mercado, Director of the London campus
