Entrepreneurial Night Challenge: Crossing Borders

"Crossing Borders" was the topic of this year's Entrepreneurial Night Challenge at the ESCP Europe Berlin. During the night from the 21 to 22 October, 12 groups of students were working on innovative ways of integrating refugees in Berlin. Using design thinking methods, the students elaborated projects dealing with educational and professional integration through language classes, job and exchange platforms, connecting events etc.

ENC organiser and MEB Programme Manager Stephan Schmuck comments on the core of the event:

"The best ideas are born at night. This too was the case with this year's entrepreneurial night challenge, here in Berlin. What was even more impressive than the many ideas on this year's challenge to facilitate refugee integration in Berlin, were the stories borne out of this event. Each of the twelve projects remarkably embodied a commitment with a cause so imminent to us all. Telling and developing these stories is important. This was not just about finding creative ways to find jobs for refugees or offering support, but a stepping stone to engage and think about all of us in different ways from within and without. In the end, everyone may have been exhausted by a lack of sleep, but that is, of course, the nature of the beast, its overall story."
