"Supply chain and operations management touches our everyday life. We live in a world where we constantly consume products and services that were created and distributed to meet our needs in terms of quality, availability, and costs. These products and services have usually undergone multifaceted transformation processes in which they were often sent around the globe multiple times through a complicated and often complex network of organizations. New transportation and information processing technologies, increasing connectedness, heightened network vulnerability, the need for more sustainability and the many organizational challenges of working with international partners are just some of the interesting challenges of successful supply chain and operations management. The Chair of Supply Chain and Operations Management at ESCP Europe is engaged in research, teaching, and training in this arena. Particular research focus is on the management of risks and complexity, (intercultural) supplier relationships, social/ethical issues in supply chains and organizational sustainability. The Chair emphasizes on a close exchange with industrial partners both in its research and teaching to ensure theoretical solutions and practical insights that are relevant in its application."
