RENT XXXIII, the Research in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Conference, takes place in Berlin-Dahlem on November 28th and 29th, with a pre-conference day on ESCP’s Berlin campus on November 27th.

In 1987, the first RENT workshop was hosted by the European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM) in Brussels. It is moreover co-organized by the European Council for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ECSB).

The RENT conferences have then been held all over Europe have dealt with topics such as SMEs in Developing and Transition Countries, Problems of Financing in SMEs, and Women in entrepreneurship. This year’s focus lies on uncertainty. Like the Effectuation conference, RENT is joined by Saras Sarasvathy. As second keynote speaker, Gerd Gigerenzer is welcomed. He is a psychologist and the director of the Harding Center for Risk Literacy at the Max Planck Institute of Human Development in Berlin. Just in 2019, he was awarded the Allais Memorial Prize for Behavioral Sciences.
