ESCP Europe’s London Campus has an extremely active Student Clubs & Societies scene, allowing for a rich extra curricular experience alongside classes.
We like to spotlight societies who are making the biggest impact, and this month it’s the turn of the ESCP Europe Finance Society! We interviewed London Campus Associate Eugenio Cipolletta to find out more about the work done by the team.
- Who can join your society, and what does it involve?
The ESCP Europe Finance Society aims to introduce students to the world of finance. We organise conferences, networking events and company visits, and constantly publish articles, reports and summaries on financial news produced by the associates on our Facebook and LinkedIn.
Any ESCP Europe student who has an interest in working in the financial sector and would like to show commitment to collaborate with other associates is welcome to apply to become part of the Finance Society.
- What would you say to someone who wants to join but isn’t sure?
The ESCP Europe Finance Society was created to help students of the School to better understand the dynamics of the financial industry and to start a career in this sector. If you are considering a career in finance and you would like to be supported by a close-knit group, you should definitely apply.
- What has been your proudest moment as a member of your Society?
Participating in the ESCP Europe Banking Trek, organised each year by the Finance Society, is an opportunity to visit the offices of many major financial institutions headquartered in London (like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, HSBC, Barclays, etc.), and to network with people who currently work there. Each year a selected group of ESCP Europe students has the opportunity to go through this amazing experience, which I found truly useful and stimulating.
- What does your Society have planned for this year?
With two conferences already under our belt, the London team is currently working on a variety of future events, including roundtables with ESCP Europe Alumni, company visits, a trading competition and, of course, the next edition of the Banking Trek.
- What does being a member of the ESCP Europe Finance Society mean to you?
It is a responsibility that I am very happy to have! Being able to collaborate with some of the brightest students in the School while working on some very interesting projects definitely contributes to making studying experience at ESCP Europe even more unique and involving.
