On Thursday 31 January, ESCP Europe hosted its Annual MBA Networking Event. Over 70 students and alumni of the MBA in International Management and the Master of European Business from all over the world, gathered and exchanged about topics such as leadership, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and emotional intelligence.

Participants came from very diverse backgrounds: engineers, architects, marketers, consultants, PhDs and finance managers, combining to 33 nationalities. The diverse background added different perspectives and interesting ideas on how to shape the future of the MBA in International Management.

They had the opportunity to brainstorm in sessions on best practices in order to share ideas of 3 strategic questions:

  • What do I need to do to be appealing to prospective companies? Guests emphasised the importance of updating their skill set, being empathetic and staying always motivated and flexible.
  • Why should companies recruit full-time MBA graduates from ESCP Europe? The diversity in viewpoints, coursework, experiences, perspectives, backgrounds and professions of MBA graduates in a strong asset for their employment. During the 10 months, they spend studying at ESCP Europe, they become very adaptable and stress-resilient. They gain great team management skills in multicultural challenges and learn to lead through emotional intelligence.
  • What are the “future” jobs that will be available for full-time MBA graduates? Students and alumni are aware that they will have to show a high level of creativity and agility in order to be successful in their future career, whether in a multinational or start-up environment.

Guests all agreed that ESCP Europe’s MBA in International Management is a wonderful asset for an international career.

Overall, all students and alumni were thrilled to exchange ideas all night long and build a strong relationship. They were very enthusiastic and shared a “galette des rois”, a French cake typically eaten in January to celebrate the New Year.

Being part of the ESCP Europe family means more to them than just studying together, and this evening proved the importance of maintaining a strong network.
