Philippe Zarlowski is a professor at ESCP Europe. His main research and teaching interests are performance management and public management. He coordinates and carries out research projects in these fields, and supervises doctoral dissertations. His research interests include the role of performance measurement and accountability systems in policy implementation and organizational transformation. His recent research focuses on the areas of healthcare, and local governments. As part of ESCP Europe's programs, he teaches mainly to Master in Management, MBA in International Management and doctoral students.

He is currently coordinator of ESCP Europe Management Control department. He was scientific director of the Deloitte Chair on Public service and managerial performance, in partnership with ENA (2013-2017). Since 2013, he has been co-editor in chief of the multidisciplinary journal Politiques et Management Public.

He has supported the development of public and private sector organizations through research projects or training modules for executives and managers that he has designed and run (notably for Eiffage, Banque de France, Groupe Caisse d'Epargne, Delphi, SNCF, Orange, AFPA, Groupama, Orpea, Saint Gobain, Renault and public hospitals).

Before joining ESCP Europe, Philippe Zarlowski was a professor at ESSEC Business School. At ESSEC, he served as vice-dean of the faculty and head of the Accounting/Control department. He also held positions at the universities of Tours and Paris Dauphine. He was a visiting researcher at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and at SCANCOR research center, Stanford University. He is a graduate of ESCP Europe, Paris School of Economics and Paris Dauphine.
