Jean Paul Lemaire is an Emeritus  Professor in the Marketing Department of ESCP Europe Paris campus.


Professor Lemaire holds degrees in Political Science (Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris), Sociology (Sorbonne),  International Economics and International Law (Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne). He attended the HEC doctoral program and earned his Doctorate in Economics from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. He is also qualified to supervise research at universities (DHDR).


He started his career as an action-researcher in industrial sociology (CNAM), before contributing to the creation of various consultancy  and profit executive and non profit education structures (DEMOS, Aster Consultants FORMASTER Association). Lecturer, then senior lecturer at Institut d'Etudes Politiques of Paris, he coordinated the Department of International Business and Economics at ESC Rouen before joining EAP where he was the Academic Dean in Paris. At ESCP Europe, he managed or co-managed various programs (Specialized  Master in International Projects, International Business Option..). He teaches and researches in International Business, International Strategy and Marketing, International Human Resources and Multicultural Management. He has a multidisciplinary approach of profit and nonprofit organizations in the public and private sectors. His particular focus is on cross border and overseas expansion and on the impact of the changes of the international environment on territories, sectors and organizations. He has a particular interest for emerging and fast growing economies where he regularly teaches and on which he researches.


Professor Lemaire has been regularly invited and is still teaching and researching in various Institutions abroad, such as the Russian Institute of External trade and MGU (Moscow), the Indian Institute of Management  Ahmedabad (India), the Tsukuba National University (Japan), Tec Egade Monterrey (Mexico), San Andres Universidad (Buenos Aires), the University of Adelaide and the South Australia University, well as in academic institutions associated to ESCP Europe, such as CFVG (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh), Ecole supérieure des Affaires (Beyruth),  and Ecole Supérieure Algérienne des Affaires (Algiers) Member of various academic national and international academic associations, among which Academy of International Business, European International Business Academy, IMP..,, Professor Lemaire has been the founder and president (2008-2014) of Atlas, Association Francophone de Management International of which he   is currently  an honorary presiden
